Senior Health & Safety Advisor

ASA are currently working with a large-scale public sector client who are looking for an experienced Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join their team on an interim basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a safer working environment by providing expert H&S advice and ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialist Health & Safety advice to management and staff.
• Support the development of a recognised Health & Safety Management System.
• Develop and implement health, safety, and welfare procedures and policies.
• Conduct incident investigations, produce reports, and ensure corrective actions
• Identify staff training needs and assist in providing H&S training.
• Lead on complex H&S projects and collaborate with key stakeholders.
• Monitor and report on H&S trends, ensuring continuous improvement.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Minimum NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
• At least 3 years’ experience in a senior H&S role.
• Strong knowledge of H&S legislation and best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations.
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS 365.

Desirable:

• Specialised H&S experience in areas such as laboratories or marine environments.

Additional Info:

• Security Clearance: Disclosure Scotland required.
• Location: Home-based / Central Belt / Aberdeen
• Travel: Occasional in-person meetings in the Central Belt/Aberdeen.
• Contract: initial 3 month contract Inside IR35
