The role
The DevOps Engineer will automate CI/CD pipelines that deploy Infrastructure from Code, builds and deploys applications, integrates test tools, and monitors the infrastructure and applications. You will collaborate with solution architects and software development teams to support the software development lifecycle through to production.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Design, develop, deploy and maintain robust, secure micro-services using Azure cloud platform, using a test-driven approach.
  2. Build and implement pro-active monitoring and logging services.
  3. Build and manage CI/CD pipelines, and deployment strategies.
  4. Work closely with the architecture and integration teams to cultivate operational standards and best working practices.
  5. Promote Agile best practices across teams.
  6. Proactively suggest recommendations to improve DevOps processes, tooling and solutions.
  7. Deliver quality work to set estimates / time frames.
  8. Contribute towards high level design and approach to project work.
  9. Carry out 1st level testing to ensure new processes or amendments to existing are working as expected.
  10. The ability to produce and input into technical documentation for all project work and existing systems.
  11. Assist the internal support teams in investigating escalated issues.

What we’re looking for:
You will be an experienced DevOps Engineer and Subject Matter Expert in building CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, Deployment and integrating test automation. You will create and maintain a library of templated services and work closely with Application Developers to design, build and test the Azure services required to deliver an integration layer using an Azure API management gateway fronting serverless and database PaaS based microservices.

Additional experience required:

  1. Strong Cloud Experience in Azure and Azure Services.
  2. Expertise and strong understanding in automating infrastructure as code using Terraform.
  3. Containerisation / Orchestration with Kubernetes & Docker.
  4. Moderate Understanding YAML/PowerShell CLI.
  5. Experience in integrating Monitoring and Observability (e.g. App Insights).
  6. Good understanding Microsoft software development including C#, SQL, .net core.
  7. Understanding of Git.
  8. Expertise in Microsoft Azure DevOps tools, especially Repos, Pipelines, Boards and Artifacts.
  9. Experience of integrating tests such a code quality (e.g. Resharpener & sonarcloud), test automation (e.g Postman).
  10. Working knowledge of popular open source technologies and cloud services (swagger, API, redis, mongoDB).
  11. Strong experience of practising Agile (Kanban or SCRUM) and BDD.
  12. Ability to work within a multi-disciplined team with a good understanding and support of everyone’s needs to achieve the outcome.
  13. Be curious and have a thirst for knowledge of new capabilities, ways-of-working and continuous improvement.
  14. Experience in a DevOps role.
  15. Self-management of general day-to-day work with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.
