Fantastic new opportunity to join our Glasgow-based Fintech client, specialising in managed Cloud provision. The business is now recruiting for a seasoned Virtualisation Engineer, as they continue to grow their tech team from their newly opened, state-of-the-art tech hub in Glasgow. This is a key hire, joining a fast-paced environment with an 'automation-first' approach, with the successful candidate having a blend of VMware and Linux-based KVM expertise.
Responsibility will lie in the design, management of and deployment of visualised environments for the extensive client base currently held. The role demands a depth of knowledge and experience of virtualised environments and technologies (Vmware ideally) and how this can optimise infrastructure and deliver performance. You will work across departments collaboratively, with a remit stretching across storage and network management, environment support and troubleshooting of virtualisation-related issues within performance and operations.
The role will suit candidates who are proactive in nature, with the ability to implement appropriate and effective solutions consistently.
Key Experience (A blend of):- Extensive experience of virtualisation technologies and broader virtualised environments
- Broad experience of VMware (vSphere)
- Strong proficiency with Linux (Ubuntu) and KVM based virtualisation
- Breadth of networking and storage knowledge and expertise
- Virtualisation troubleshooting and resolution - patching, migrations and upgrades
- Proactive and collaborative in nature
