The Cloud Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect our cloud-based systems and data. This role involves working closely with IT, DevOps, and other business units to ensure the security and compliance of our cloud environments.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Design and implement cloud security architectures and strategies.
  2. Develop and implement security measures, policies, and procedures to protect systems and networks against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security incidents. Ensure security best practices are followed.
  3. Building effective monitoring, logging, and auditing of systems. Monitor and respond to security incidents and threats in cloud environments.
  4. Conduct security assessments and audits of cloud infrastructure.
  5. Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams to integrate security into the continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.
  6. Stay current with the latest cloud security trends, threats, and technologies.
  7. Provide guidance and training to Technology teams on cloud security practices.
  8. Maintain and update documentation related to cloud security.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  1. Experience in cloud security or a similar role.
  2. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure required, AWS desired) and their security features.
  3. Experience with security tools such as CNAPP, CSPM, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
  4. Familiarity with major security compliance frameworks and building effective monitoring, logging, and auditing of systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (NIST, CCPA, PCI, GDPR, etc.)
  5. Experience with zero trust security model and Identity and Access Management (IAM) including Multi-factor authentication (MFA).
  6. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus.
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  9. Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure security engineer, CCSP, CISSP) are preferred.
