As an Engineering Policy Manager, you will be responsible for setting and monitoring technical policies and standards across SGN’s gas distribution business. This role includes:

  • Ensuring technical policies, procedures and specifications remain fit for purpose;
  • Reviewing and implementing best practice and suggestions for business improvement;
  • Approval of new products for use on the gas network;
  • Coordination of field trials;
  • Participating in and influencing relevant industry forums.

  • Using engineering judgement to assess technical options
  • Creating and updating specifications and procedures
  • Understanding the impact of policy change on different roles and departments

  • Looking to the future to ensure our policies support SGNs strategic goals

What you’ll need

  • Asset or operational management knowledge and experience of Gas Transmission & Plant
  • You will need good written and verbal communication skills
  • You will need to be able to interpret technical requirements and communicate them so they can be understood and implemented by others.
  • You will be an incorporated or chartered Engineer, or willing to work towards this.
  • Able to carry out impact and risk assessments.
