Location: We have opportunities for Wastewater Environmental Permit Compliance Leads to join the Environmental compliance team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. The roles will be based at our Buttershaw site, Bradford, and will be a flexible hybrid working.
Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday within a standard working window.

The Environmental compliance team are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.
Where you fit in: As Wastewater Environmental Permit Compliance Lead you will:
- Manage and coordinate Environment Agency (EA) site inspections, ensuring internal operational teams are prepared and available to support, as well as hosting audits yourself.
- Manage the Compliance Assessment Report (CAR) response process, driving the timely resolution of actions and responses to the EA.
- Liaise with various teams to ensure new permits and requirements are communicated, understood and embedded.
- Independently conduct internal risk-based site inspections to assure compliance.
- Work with reporting specialists to develop audit performance data and collaborate with teams to proactively drive sustained improvements to environmental permitting and inspection processes.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
- Good understanding of environmental permitting regulations and other legal requirements.
- Experience working in the WASC sector or operating within a regulated industry or framework.
- Process improvement and standards definition.
- Data management and presentation skills.
- Organisation and planning.
- Working comfortably with and influencing multiple teams across the business and the regulator.
- Matrix management.
- Interpersonal and relationship building abilities.
