Faber Children’s is an award-winning independent publisher of high-quality picture books, fiction, middle grade, young adult, non-fiction and poetry. The list encompasses an extraordinary collection of authors including Jeffrey Boakye, Moira Buffini, Kacen Callender, Emma Carroll, Swapna Haddow, Alwyn Hamilton, Kieran Larwood, Marissa Meyer, Jason Reynolds, and Francesca Simon, alongside a renowned classics list. It is also the home of a number of industry initiatives including the FAB Prize, the Action! Prize, and Creative Pride.
We are looking to recruit a Publicity Manager to manage campaigns and events across the children’s front list and back list at all levels, from picture books to YA. The role is also responsible for the line management of one direct report. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for children’s books and connecting them to readers, who has a proven track record of delivering impactful campaigns and exceptional author care.
The successful candidate will be required to lead on PR strategy for the list. They will have established relationships with media contacts, influencers, events organisers, children’s trade organisations, and booksellers. They will enjoy working as part of the wider children’s and comms teams and will be confident in liaising closely with authors, illustrators, and agents, in addition to colleagues across the company. They will have a strong strategic understanding of routes to audience, and what is required to drive commercial success in the children’s market.
The role requires exemplary communication skills, creativity and vision, an excellent knowledge of print, broadcast, digital and social media, and an ability to prioritise and effectively manage a number of varying responsibilities. Reporting to the Publicity Director, this is a permanent full-time position based in our London office, requiring a minimum of 3 days in the office per week. Some evening and weekend work will be required.
