Hyde is looking to recruit a Lawyer (Housing Management).

Role Overview

As a Lawyer (Housing Management) at Hyde, you will provide housing management advice and litigation services.

Responsibilities

This role primarily involves providing housing management advice and handling litigation in areas such as:

  • ASB possession claims
  • Unauthorised subletting claims and tenancy fraud possession claims
  • Unauthorised occupier possession claims, including failed successors, former licensees, squatters
  • Complex or defended rent arrears possession claims
  • Other complex multi-ground possession claims
  • Leasehold disputes and service charge recovery
  • General advisory work on housing management and related issues, including hoarding, mental health, and social care issues
  • ASB injunctions and contempt applications

You will be part of an in-house team with supportive colleagues who will offer guidance and encouragement.

Skills and Experience

  • Must hold a valid Practising Certificate.
  • Be a Solicitor admitted to the roll of solicitors in England and Wales, or a Barrister, or a Fellow of ILEX (eligible to be called a Legal Executive).
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in housing management cases similar to those outlined above.
  • Experience managing own caseload and working within billing and time recording targets.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with a strong command of English.
  • High commercial awareness and adaptability to changing business needs.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handling a high volume of cases against tight deadlines, with a focus on delivery.
  • Excellent drafting skills and legal acumen.
  • Flexibility to meet organizational needs and deadlines.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach, with willingness to coach and support colleagues.
