We originate, structure and execute public and private placement of equities, investment-grade and non-investment-grade debt and related products.
This position will sit in the GCM EMEA management team which rolls up into the COO and Head of Business Control Unit (Risk) of EMEA GCM; the team also works directly with the Global Co-Head of GCM.
The internship will last for up to 6 months, but the programme length can vary depending on business needs and candidate availability. You will spend the duration of the internship with the GCM EMEA Management team.
TRAINING PROGRAM
You will receive on-the-job training and benefit from working alongside experienced professionals on a variety of projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The role is wide ranging and dynamic in nature to meet the business needs of the division. You will use your knowledge of the financial markets in a management capacity and have the opportunity to learn about the GCM division and all our products, as well as a holistic overview of Morgan Stanley. The role involves providing ongoing support to the management and operations of GCM, as well as ad hoc support on projects and initiatives driven by the management team. The primary responsibilities of the role include:
Support the GCM management team in day-to-day delivery of the business
Contribute to the preparation of strategic divisional projects, financial reviews, scenario analysis and competitor analysis across the businesses, as well as creation and preparation of presentations and supporting materials for GCM Management
Preparation and analysis of regular data reviews, including transaction reviews and weekly updates for GCM Management
Support the GCM non-financial risk team with projects and procedures to ensure adherence to industry regulations and Firm policies
Act as a liaison or point of contact in GCM for requests from and to certain business units, including HR, Legal & Compliance, Corporate Services, and others
Central point of contact for Divisional business enquiries
Contribute to the design and implementation of training programs and other divisional event planning
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
You are a proven proactive team player with an ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities and workstreams
You have high proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word
You have strong analytical and problem solving skills
You are fluent in English; ability to communicate effectively in another language is an advantage
You have strong organisational skills
You are confident and have a positive attitude
You are results-driven, perform well under pressure and against tight deadlines
You are committed to excellence in your work and maintain high professional and ethical standard
