Our client, a leading global law firm with over 5,000 people across more than 30 countries, is seeking a talented Senior Associate Tax Associate to join their dynamic team in London.
The Role
As a Senior Associate Tax Associate, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive tax solutions to the firm's global client base. You will work closely with the market-leading real estate tax team on complex acquisitions, disposals, developments, and finance structures, while also collaborating with the international tax team on cross-border structuring and advisory projects.
Responsibilities
- Take a lead role on corporate transactions, including M&A, private equity, public market transactions, and group reorganisations.
- Work with the real estate tax team on complex real estate acquisitions, disposals, developments, and real asset-backed finance structures.
- Lead tax structuring and advisory projects as part of a team of tax experts.
- Plan and implement cross-border structures and advisory projects in collaboration with the international tax team.
- Support the tax risk and W&I insurance advisory team, working closely with leading tax underwriters to provide insurance solutions for identified tax risks.
- Engage in active business development to win client mandates from both existing and new clients.
- Participate in thought leadership and brand enhancement activities to further develop the firm's reputation for strategic tax mandates and your personal brand in the tax market.
- Train and develop junior team members.
- Commit to superior client service and delivery, which may require some international travel.
Requirements
- 3+ years of PQE gained within the tax practice of a leading law firm.
- Significant experience with drafting and negotiating tax contractual provisions for corporate, real estate, finance, or funds transactions.
- A keen interest in tax and a drive to learn and develop, including an interest in further professional development such as the CTA and other qualifications.
- Ambition and desire to build personal expertise and a tax brand and practice with a view to a long-term future in tax and at the firm.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record of working in and managing teams, ideally in an interdisciplinary framework.
