The Role: Pattern Cutter
SRVC studio is recruiting for an experienced freelance Pattern Cutter to join our team. Handling patterns across the whole womenswear collection including knit and woven styles, the role will be sampling focussed, manual pattern cutting.
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the designers and head pattern cutter to create patterns from sketch or reference
- Sealing patterns to be sent for factory sampling
- Advising correct finishes for sampling and production, overseeing necessary testing
- Work with seamstress for in-house toiling
- Closely following the critical paths to ensure deadlines are met
- Maintain consistency of sizing and fit
The Ideal Candidate:
- 5+ Years pattern cutting experience
- Experience working flat and draping on the stand
- High level of organisation and accuracy
- Accustomed to working to tight deadlines and being able to multitask across changing priorities
- Flexibility required at peak times to manage workload
- Excellent understanding of detail, shape and proportion
- Clear and efficient communicator
- Excellent understanding of fit and garment construction
