In the Technology & Business Enablement function, we are seeking a seasoned leader to take on the role of Head of Business Execution for the Technology Chief Information Office (CIO) and Functions and Enterprise Change organizations. The role, which reports to the Technology & Business Enablement COO, is a senior management-level position responsible for managing the Business Execution teams that drive the overall administrative activities for both the CIO and Functions and Enterprise Change organizations. This role will lead, manage, and coach a team of staff responsible for driving key priorities and strategies across key areas of both organizations, managing strategic initiatives, leading central business processes, managing and monitoring key metrics, and stewarding function resources. It is critical for ensuring Citi’s technology initiatives align with strategic priorities, adhere to architectural principles, meet safety and soundness objectives, and deliver tangible value to Citi.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Execution Strategy and Operating Model: Oversee the design, enhancement, implementation, reporting, and governance of budgets, financials, operations, and compliance with firm-wide policies and procedures, leveraging business execution tools (systems, processes, workflows, procedures) and anticipated changes.
  • Resource Management: Hiring Strategy and Headcount Management: align hiring with financial resources and firm-wide priorities, as well as location strategy.
  • Financial Management: Develop, refine and implement financial management strategy and execution, including day-to-day financials, budgets, expense management policies, strategic initiatives, process simplification, and other duties as required to ensure overall quality and efficiency across operations.
  • Key Priorities and Strategic Initiatives: Ensure strategic goals that guide future growth and development of the function are prioritized and translated into action plans with key measurements to monitor progress.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide leadership and strategic direction to the various functional teams to improve and automate all existing processes.
  • Organizational Governance: Evaluate and advise on the impact of programs, strategies, regulatory actions and provide financial and strategic input/analyses on issues affecting the organization such as contracts, budgets, financial reports, and financial trends; Monitor strict adherence to governance and ensure risks are addressed, setting high standards of professionalism across all functions.
  • Ensure senior management and executive level reporting requirements are met, inclusive of Citi Executive Scorecard.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, peers, and colleagues at all levels to ensure correct focus and direction and serve on external committees where applicable.
  • Conduct management responsibilities for multiple teams, including management of people, budgeting and planning, performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, etc.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience with progressively responsible experience managing a global function or business.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management of diverse global teams and implementing a follow-the-sun model to leverage a broad geographic footprint.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business management, strategic planning, program/project management, financial planning cycles and expense management strategies, Human Capital Management.
  • Strong aptitude to translate a vision into actionable plans and strategies, with a bias toward action and execution.
  • Demonstrated strategic planning, delegation, financial reporting, budgeting and cash flow management skills.
  • Consistently detail-oriented, goal-oriented and able to work in a team.
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Proven ability to execute large complex change programs.
  • Strong core finance technical skills and solid understanding of finance processes, infrastructure and systems.
  • Proven ability to lead/manage a Business/Function/Region of a large, global financial firm.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree.
