My Client, a leading global hedge fund, are seeking an experienced C# Developer to join their London office and lead the build out of their proprietary OEMS.
My client is looking for a Senior C# Developer to lead the build-out of their proprietary Order and Execution Management System (OEMS), playing a key role in shaping their core trading technology.
In this role, you will drive the development of business-critical front-office applications, working closely with traders and portfolio managers to deliver high-performance solutions. As a senior leader, you will oversee a highly skilled engineering team, collaborating with some of the brightest minds in the industry. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will have direct exposure to PMs, traders, and senior management, ensuring your work has a significant impact on the firm’s trading infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop a high-performance OMS/EMS solution, either proprietary or in conjunction with a vendor system.
- Automate order flow from the Portfolio Management System (PMS) to the OMS/EMS, ensuring seamless trade staging and execution.
- Develop and optimize execution strategies and trade management workflows.
- Work with FIX protocol and other connectivity solutions to integrate with brokers, exchanges, and liquidity providers.
- Implement low-latency, high-throughput software to support fast and efficient trade execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Trading, Quant, and Infrastructure, to ensure robust and scalable architecture.
- Evaluate build vs. buy decisions for the OMS/EMS and contribute to the strategic direction of the platform.
Key Requirements
- Strong experience in C# and .NET for high-performance system development.
- Proven experience working on Order Management Systems (OMS) and/or Execution Management Systems (EMS)—either developing bespoke solutions or integrating vendor platforms.
- Familiarity with FIX protocol and other trading connectivity standards.
- Experience in low-latency software development, optimizing performance for real-time trading.
- Strong understanding of electronic trading workflows, order lifecycle, and execution strategies.
- Knowledge of financial markets and asset classes, particularly equities, derivatives, or fixed income, is a plus.
- Prior experience in a hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, or investment bank is beneficial.
