A well-known and fast-paced Fashion Retailer is working exclusively with We Do Group to hire an Interim Financial Controller to join their team based in the heart of Central London.

We’re looking for someone who has a strong grasp of financial accounting and reporting processes but also enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive the commercial success of the business.

In this role, you will report to a fun and supportive Finance Director and will take on day-to-day responsibility for managing the finance function. You will be overseeing everything from financial reporting, stats, and systems, to internal controls, as the company continues to expand across multiple sites and online channels.

The Role

As Interim Financial Controller, you will be tasked with the following key responsibilities:

• Oversee reporting, audits, and statutory accounting across multiple locations.
• Support with management accounting and FP&A.
• Manage all aspects of accounting operations including A/R, A/P, GL, Inventory Accounting.
• Prepare and publish timely and accurate monthly financial statements, as well as manage financial forecasting and variance reporting.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure high-quality control over all financial transactions and reporting.
• Develop and document accounting policies and business processes.
• Drive the implementation of finance systems and enhance processes and controls.
• Provide insights and commercial support by analysing data and producing reports using Excel.

This role requires a hands-on, highly varied approach where you will have the chance to influence the growth and scalability of the business. We are seeking someone who is not only comfortable with financial reporting but also enjoys driving change and creating efficiencies.

Your Profile

• Can start ASAP and commit to an interim role. Ideally 6 months, could be ongoing.
• You are a qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent).
• You have a strong background in financial reporting, with experience in multi-site retail, and eCommerce.
• You are comfortable with financial systems and processes, and have experience implementing and optimizing them.
• You thrive in a fast-paced, people-centric environment and enjoy working closely with teams across the business to deliver results.
• You are flexible and open to change, with the ability to identify issues and drive solutions.
• Ideally, you are able to work in Central London.
