In house Counsel (Investment House) – Suffolk
Origin Legal are instructed exclusively by an investment house to recruit their first UK based, In House Counsel. This is an amazing opportunity to join a business at an exciting stage of its expansion. This is not a back-office role; you will enjoy being visible from day one and an integral part of a close-knit team, advising on a broad range of legal issues with complex interests both in the UK and internationally.
We are seeking a UK Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 3 years PQE, gained either in Private Practice, looking for their first move In House or a Lawyer, already working In House and looking for a fresh challenge. Ideally, you will have an understanding and previous experience within either Corporate Law, Commercial/Contract Law or Commercial Real Estate.
Responsibilities:
- Providing legal advice and strategic guidance on all legal matters within the UK operation.
- Advising, drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts, agreements, and legal documents related to investments, real estate transactions, and business operations.
- Ensure compliance with local, international and jurisdictional laws, including tax regulations, corporate governance, and financial regulations.
- Liaise with external lawyers, tax advisors, and financial professionals on complex legal matters, as well colleagues within the wider group.
- Assist with structuring and due diligence of private investments and business ventures.
- Responsible for KYC compliance and ensuring due diligence procedures are followed.
- Provide and co-ordinate legal expertise on tax law related to both corporate entities and personal wealth management.
- Involved in estate planning, trusts, and succession planning.

- Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to directors.
- Flexible, adaptable and responsive character, a team player with a “can do attitude”.
- Ideally with some understanding of investments regulations, corporate governance or trust structures.
- Able to work primarily within the office in Suffolk, with some hybrid working.
