We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Platform Engineering to join our leadership team. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role is pivotal in driving the technical strategy and execution of our platform infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Software Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), infrastructure management, solutions architecture, and scaling. You will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust, secure, and scalable multi-tenant platform that powers our global B2B SaaS solution. This is a hands-on role that requires both strategic vision and the ability to dive deep into technical challenges.
Responsibilities
- Lead and Manage the Platform Engineering Initiatives
- Define and execute the technical roadmap for platform infrastructure, observability, and developer experience
- Drive DevOps, SRE, and Infrastructure initiatives to ensure platform reliability and performance
- Foster a culture of automation, observability, and continuous improvement
- Architect and Implement Scalable Solutions
- Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions.
- Establish architectural guidelines and best practices for the platform
- Ensure optimal performance and scalability across all regions
- Own Platform Reliability and Operations
- Define and maintain SLOs/SLIs/SLAs for critical platform services
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions
- Design and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Lead incident response and post-mortem processes
- Optimize Platform Performance and Costs
- Implement strategies to optimize infrastructure costs without compromising quality.
- Monitor and improve platform performance metrics
- Resolve Technical Debt
- Identify areas of technical debt and develop plans to address them
- Refactor legacy systems to improve maintainability and performance
- Ensure Security and Compliance
- Implement security best practices and maintain security posture
- Ensure compliance with SOC 2 and other relevant standards
- Lead security audits and remediation efforts
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align platform architecture with business goals.
- Build and maintain efficient CI/CD pipelines
- Improve developer experience through tooling and automation
- Create and maintain technical documentation

- Be actively involved in solving complex technical issues
- Contribute to codebases as needed to drive projects forward
Requirements
Technical Expertise
- Proven experience managing Kubernetes clusters and expertise in container orchestration.
- Experience with observability tools (e.g., DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Experience in Database optimization and management (especially for multi-tenant architectures)
- Extensive knowledge of AWS services, including EKS, Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, Glue, Redshift, and ElastiCache
- Strong experience with GitOps workflows and tools, particularly ArgoCD
- Demonstrated expertise in CI/CD pipelines and automation
- Solid software engineering background with proficiency in Python (backend).
- Strong focus on security practices and implementations
- Experience with multi-tenant architecture patterns and best practices
Leadership Skills
- At least 7+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure management, or related fields
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to drive velocity
- Highly accountable and responsible, with a strong work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile
- Proven ability to balance technical debt with feature development
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
