Quality Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Technician to join a leading engineering and manufacturing company in Ashchurch. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to play a key role in maintaining product quality and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
The Role
As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting manufactured products and incoming materials to ensure they meet quality requirements. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting technical and visual inspections to identify defects in line with product specifications.
- Reviewing technical drawings and instructions to ensure compliance with quality expectations.
- Recording and reporting all defects and non-conformances.
- Managing all non-conformance issues, including documentation, processing, and returns.
- Conducting face-to-face inspections with customer quality representatives.
- Providing feedback to the Quality Engineer on process improvements.
- Ensuring adherence to GDPR and quality policies.
- Supporting the business in maintaining ISO 9001:2015 certification.
- Managing equipment calibration renewals and registers.
- Being flexible and willing to undertake additional tasks as required by management.
Key Requirements
We are looking for an experienced and committed Quality Technician with the following skills and experience:
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven experience as a Quality Inspector or similar role, ideally in an electronics-based product manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with electronic/electrical components and cabling.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and data sheets.
- Experience using test and measurement equipment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyse and resolve quality issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience or qualification to IPC-A-610 / IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
- Experience working with DEF-STANs.
- Background in calibration roles or experience with calibration equipment.
