The Role: We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Welfare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the health, well-being, and personal care needs of our pupils, ensuring they are comfortable, safe, and happy throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care to pupils, including assistance with toileting, feeding, and hygiene, in line with individual care plans.
- Offer emotional and physical support to students, promoting their well-being and dignity.
- Administer first aid as required (training will be provided).
- Support pupils during break and lunchtimes, encouraging positive social interactions.
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to implement care plans and ensure the needs of each student are met.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the appropriate staff members.
About You:
- Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly in an educational or care setting, is desirable but not essential.
- A caring and patient nature, with a genuine desire to support pupils with SEN.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
