Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Commercial Dispute Resolution team as a Solicitor.
We are accepting applications from Solicitors, Associates or Senior Associates.
Our tier 1 team is one of the largest and most experienced in the Midlands, handling complex and high value disputes for a variety of local and national clients.
This role is responsible for managing a personal caseload of commercial litigation matters whilst also supporting on more complex matters with senior members of the team.
Responsible for liaising directly with clients and ensuring a high level of client care is provided at all times.
This role reports directly to the Head of Commercial Dispute Resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of commercial litigation matters that can include:
- Contractual disputes
- Commercial property disputes
- Landlord & Tenant disputes
- Professional negligence disputes
- Debt Recovery disputes
- As well as managing a personal caseload of litigated matters, this role is responsible for supporting on more complex matters alongside senior members of the team;
- Ensure matters are kept up to date in systems and new advancements are communicated to clients and the relevant team members;
- Record all time in the Tikit system, including non-billable activities;
- Take responsibility for managing the client experience. Attend client meetings where necessary;
- Take a keen interest in business development for the department and contribute where required;
- Support departmental audits as and when required;
- Take on additional tasks as reasonably required by the Head of Commercial Dispute Resolution;
- Conduct legal research where required; and
- Demonstrate a meticulous approach with great attention to detail.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You will:
- Have a minimum of a 2:1 legal degree;
- Have experience in Commercial Litigation;
- Be able to manage your own caseload of complex client matters;
- Demonstrate excellent commitment to client care and good technical ability;
- Have excellent time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines with your caseload;
- Possess excellent communication skills; and
- Have a sound knowledge of IT systems and processes, such as the Microsoft suite.
Disclosure will be required in the event that a position is offered.
The successful candidate will be required to attend an induction and a period of training at the firm’s Derby office.
