We are looking for a Lead UAS Engineer to play a key role in the design, development, and testing of unmanned aerial systems. Working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, you’ll contribute to cutting-edge UAV technology, from early-stage concepts to real-world flight testing.
Your Role:
- Design and build UAV platforms, focusing on airframes, propulsion, avionics, and power systems.
- Develop Prototypes using rapid iteration, 3D printing, and CAD modelling.
- Test and improve UAV systems through hands-on flight trials and data analysis.
- Integrate components including autopilots, sensors, and communication systems.
- Work in a team alongside mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to refine designs.
- Support field operations by preparing and conducting UAV test flights.
Requirements:
- At least 3 years experience in UAS development or operations.
- Experience with PX4, Ardupilot, ROS2, Python, C++, or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Strong hands-on experience with UAV construction, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of avionics, power systems, propulsion, and sensor integration.
- Familiarity with 3D printing and CAD tools for prototyping.
- Ability to analyze flight data and refine system performance.
- Full driving license and willingness to travel occasionally for flight tests.
Desirable:
- Previous work on custom UAV designs, beyond standard quadcopters.
- GVC Qualification.
- Understanding of autonomy, image processing, or advanced flight control systems.
