On behalf of our Financial Services Client we are looking for an Internal Auditor for an initial 6-month contract based in the bank's London office on a hybrid working model of 3 days per week in the office and 2 from home.
Purpose of the role: This position is within the Investment Banking and Operations audit team. The role involves supporting Principal Audit Managers (PAMs) in executing audits and conducting controls testing, either as part of an ongoing audit or during the validation of findings.
Key responsibilities:
- Execute and/or lead audit work and contribute to the delivery of audits (including risk assessments and business monitoring), with minimal supervision, delivering the work in line with agreed budgets and timelines, and working cohesively with other teams to guarantee an integrated approach.
- Deliver audit planning, document process flows, identify key risks and controls in place to mitigate the identified risks and attend meetings with internal stakeholders.
- Lead audits within the portfolio, and thus able to scope audits, oversee and coach team members, identify and report findings to senior stakeholders within the bank.
- Place importance on self-development and learning new skills and reinforce an environment where people management and development is a key priority.
- Communicate openly with divisional management/internal stakeholders, keep them informed of potential issues and escalate problems/delays accordingly. Explain findings in a clear manner and draft concise audit findings for audit management review. Facilitate issue tracking and validate the closure of findings.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous relevant experience of internal audit and/or big 4 audit experience in the financial industry.
- Experience working as an Internal Auditor.
- Experience working as an Auditor within Markets or Investment banking is required for this role.
- Experience in auditing is required to cover certain areas of the portfolio, with sound knowledge/understanding of Investment Banking activities, risks and controls, and good understanding of auditing standards.
- Detailed oriented individual who has experience in following documentation standards from a similar audit function.
- Good relationship management, interpersonal, analytical, problem solving, influencing, and planning skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
This client will only accept workers operating via a PAYE engagement model.
