Senior Civil Engineer (Main Contracting)

RG Barerecruiting on behalf of a Civil Engineering Main Contractor in their search to find the very best talent within the Southwest. On offer is the opportunity to join a large Highways Scheme in Devon on a permanent basis.

We\’re looking to recruit a Senior Engineer that has a full understanding of the technical requirements and techniques of setting out as well as being able to lead, mentor, and coach an existing team.

About the Role

As the experienced Senior Engineer, you will have the following duties:

1. Play a pivotal role within the Project Management
2. Take control of the Project site
3. Coach an existing team of Setting out and Section Engineers
4. Check technical drawings, specifications and report any issues to the engineering team.
5. Ensure that information is available on drawings in accordance with the programme.
6. Report any inconsistencies in the information provided to the Project Manager
7. Undertake Quantity takeoff for materials from drawings.
8. Maintain a Daily site diary and carry out daily Health and Safety Inspections
9. Raise any technical queries and liaise with designer to resolve
10. Ensure that all (ITP\’s) are in place for all activities
11. Produce/Review Method Statements and Risk Assessments & ensure that Safe Systems of Work are adhered to

For this role, it is essential that you have a minimum of a HND and ideally Degree level qualification in Civil Engineering. As this role will be working on a live construction site you will also have a minimum of 5 years site experience as well as having a SSSTS/CSCS, SMSTS & First Aid certificates.
