My client is one of the leading distributors in England, seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations Manager to oversee and enhance their operational processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient operations, upholding health and safety, driving productivity, and fostering a thriving work environment. This role requires a forward thinker who can lead a small team effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and service. This is an exciting time to join as they are transitioning into a modern facility and this role can be yours to harness and manage independently.
Responsibilities:
- Implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and productivity
- Take full ownership of the warehousing duties including key holding
- Monitor daily operations and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
- Log and digitally file picking notes for traceability
- Attain distribution documents and liaise with the transport companies
- Stock management and maintaining a clean and operational environment at all times is crucial
- Prepare reports for senior management detailing operational performance, challenges, and opportunities for growth
- Work with a small team to ensure distribution is of a consistently high standard
Experience:
- Proven experience in an operations management role or similar position within a relevant industry
- A full FLT certificate
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate
- Excel in problem-solving
- Excellent time management
- Health and safety conscious
- Awareness of working with or using pressurised goods
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
