Our client is a highly ambitious UK based early-stage venture developing advanced processing and networking hardware solutions for AI, HPC and Datacentre applications. The company is looking to appoint an experienced Director of Engineering with a track record of taking development projects from concept to production.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the full product development lifecycle from engineering prototypes to product iterations.
  • Lead and scale a multidisciplinary engineering team in the design and development of high performance CPU and/or GPU platform hardware.
  • Drive cross-functional teams including software, firmware, and validation engineers to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and Team Leaders.
  • Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Optimise designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  • Allocate resources effectively to maximize productivity and meet project demands.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in design engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of leading complex hardware design projects from concept to production.
  • Extensive industry experience in architecture, design, and methodology for cutting-edge board design development.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and motivate a high-performing team.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Awareness of market trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to drive innovation.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align design engineering strategies with overall company objectives.
