Highway Maintenance Apprentice - Rainton Construction

Optimum skills are partnering with Rainton Construction, part of the MGL Group. We are looking for motivated and hardworking individuals to join our team as Apprentice Highway Maintenance Operatives. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working towards a nationally recognised qualification in Highway Maintenance.\\n\\nAs an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced operatives, learning the essential skills needed to maintain and repair roads, footpaths, and drainage systems to ensure safe and efficient travel for the public.

You will receive on-the-job training and attend college or a training provider to develop your technical knowledge.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\n * Assisting with the construction, repair, and maintenance of highways, pavements, and drainage systems.\\n\\n * Learning to safely use hand tools, machinery, and specialist equipment.\\n\\n * Supporting traffic management operations, including setting up cones, barriers, and road signs.\\n\\n * Undertaking pothole repairs, kerbing, resurfacing, and other essential highway works.\\n\\n * Following health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.\\n\\n * Attending off-site training and completing coursework to achieve apprenticeship qualifications.\\n\\nJob Type: Apprenticeship\\n\\nPay: £7.55-£12.00 per hour\\n\\nExpected hours: No less than 40 per week
