We have been retained by a leading, profitable, investing and expanding manufacturer, who, as a result of some internal changes and in line with the ongoing program of change, need to appoint an ambitious and experienced MD to their world-class production facility. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you shall take overall control of the business and its people. Specifically, you shall have a fully engaged hands-on approach to leading a small team of senior managers, working very closely with Sales and Finance operations to agree and deliver plans, grow the business, and develop overall performance. From a production viewpoint, you shall lead/manage functional managers in operations, quality, HSE, HR, logistics, engineering, and production, supporting each to deliver present and future business plans. You will have full P&L responsibility for the site, being responsible for overall business performance and profitability. It is also expected that you shall ensure strong working relationships with the firm\’s existing clients, as well as in the winning and retention of new business. It is expected that you shall be a skilled leader, with a demonstrable track record of managing successful manufacturing operations, with a focus on employee engagement combined with sound commercial acumen. Typically, we would expect to see at least 10 years of experience in manufacturing/production environments (ideally in complex components) with at least 5 years in a site-wide leadership role. You will have excellent communication and engagement skills, be financially competent, and have a strong understanding of lean/CI methodologies.
