My client is looking to expand the capacity of our production team to deliver high-quality projects. This new role is being created to support ongoing growth and ensure excellence in project execution. Reporting to senior leadership, the Project Manager will be responsible for planning and overseeing the design and implementation of installation projects. After supporting the initial sales process, the successful candidate will take full ownership of technical development, execution, and post-installation support for complex audio-visual installations. Technology (system design and workflow) and video content are supported by other team members. The role involves leading on-site operations, managing specialist staff and contractors within broader construction projects, or acting as the primary contractor on smaller retrofit installations. Strong communication skills and experience with AV technology are essential, as the Project Manager will coordinate with technical and creative teams while liaising with clients and external contractors.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and ensure compliance with health and safety standards for each project, aligning with client and contractor requirements.
- Present a professional and customer-facing demeanor, demonstrating expertise in AV installation.
- Take ownership of each project to achieve the best possible outcomes while maintaining budget and quality standards.
- Organize and lead internal project meetings as required.
- Coordinate technical designs with construction teams and other contractors during project planning.
- Understand company technology and creative processes to effectively represent project interests in site meetings.
- Communicate with on-site contractors to efficiently resolve emerging issues while safeguarding project objectives.
- Manage procurement, logistics, labor, and scheduling for each project.
- Maintain up-to-date project documentation and ensure all relevant stakeholders are informed.
- Oversee project budgets, ensuring accurate cost planning before work begins.
- Support the sales and planning processes of installation projects.
- Ensure smooth project transitions from planning to execution and post-installation support.
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives by tracking and minimizing the environmental impact of projects.
- Be based in the office, with travel to project sites as required, including occasional international travel.
Experience/Skills:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high safety and quality standards.
- Experience in the AV industry with technical knowledge, particularly in video, networking, and audio.
- Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing project needs.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
- Desire to expand expertise in key areas, including: System design and documentation using AutoCAD, Vectorworks, and Microsoft 365.
Bonus Experience/Skills:
- Previous experience in AV system integration.
- Proven ability to manage multiple contractors in a build or fit-out environment.
- Knowledge of various AV technologies, including: LED screens (including non-standard formats), large-format projectors, architectural and entertainment lighting, audio playback and public address systems, AV control and integration systems, BMS.
- Familiarity with media server technology such as Medialon, Crestron, Kramer, Disguise, Pixera, Touchdesigner, Brightsign, and Resolume (training provided as needed).
- Relevant site project management certifications, such as: Health and Safety Management accreditation, CSCS/ECS/CTS certification, project management or leadership training.
