Our Aerospace client based in Shanghai, China, are looking to appoint a Design Project Engineer for new Aircraft Interiors design and development. This will be on a wide range of interior panels, structures and systems: including ceiling and side wall panels, overhead lockers, galleys and lavatories. This will be a long term role for an expert within aircraft interiors design and development. Fixed term contracts will be offered to the successful candidate. Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing interior components to ensure they meet functional and performance requirements.
- Research and select suitable structural materials, such as plastics, metals, and composite materials, ensuring they comply with strength, weight, and cost requirements as well as industry standards.
- Conduct structural strength analysis to ensure the reliability and durability of components under various operational conditions.
- Prepare detailed structural design documentation, including design specifications, material requirements, and process guidelines.
- Troubleshoot and analyze structural issues arising during production or testing, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
- Manage and maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM) to ensure accuracy and completeness of all components and materials.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher. Major in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Design & Manufacturing, Automation, Aircraft Design, or related fields.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or experience in the aerospace or automotive industry.
- Proficiency in CATIA and engineering software; familiarity with simulation tools such as AMESim, Fluent, and Matlab/Simulink is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design, system engineering, aircraft theory, and system design principles.
- Excellent communication, logical thinking, analytical, and verbal/written skills.
Candidates must be willing to live and work in China for 2-3 years initial contract with options to extend beyond. This position offers long term steady work.
