Technical Delivery Director (retail, commerce and consumer products)

We are looking for a highly technical, proactive, and people-smart Delivery Director with expertise in the retail/CPG industry to join our team in London. As a key member, you will manage complex transformation programs, projects, and multiple workstreams, collaborating with both local and global delivery teams. You will be accountable for overall project delivery, client satisfaction, and managing expectations, ensuring work aligns with strategy, is completed on time, and within budget. You will work alongside renowned design, development, and technology teams passionate about their work. Your role will include building strong business and technology relationships, defining and delivering solutions, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end client delivery from initiation to project completion, ensuring successful delivery per EPAM processes.
• Manage client relationships and expectations, representing delivery at governance levels.
• Coordinate multiple activity streams and clients, ensuring seamless delivery across finance, sourcing, implementation, and business outcomes.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, engineers, and QA teams to drive estimates, delivery plans, and retrospectives.
• Identify and manage engagement risks proactively, develop mitigation plans, and escalate major issues early.
• Participate in business development for existing and new clients, identifying new opportunities.
• Engage in pre-sales activities, prepare proposals, define implementation plans, and present solutions and delivery statements of work.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services.
• Hands-on experience in technology and software engineering practices, with the ability to supervise and recommend technical decisions.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers to ensure efficient delivery and analysis.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools.
• Experience delivering ecommerce projects using composable architecture.
• Experience with data projects, including data governance, quality, integration, and lifecycle management.
• Experience leading geographically distributed delivery teams and defining target operating models.
• Proven leadership in hiring, mentoring, and managing teams, with strategic direction and goal setting.
• Track record of managing multiple complex projects from initiation to delivery, prioritising effectively.
