Are you a great manager of engineers who looks after your team whilst also providing a great service to the customer? This could be the role for you! We are currently recruiting for a Service Manager for a manufacturing and engineering business with a stellar reputation and a well-deserved reputation as an employer of choice.

This Service Manager role will take overall control of the performance of a mid-sized team of Service Engineers whilst being the first point of call for escalation and dispute resolution. Your team will cover the UK with a significant international remit too.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Performance management of the service department
  • Coaching, mentoring and motivating supervisory staff and their teams
  • Budget and forecasting responsibility
  • Strategic planning
  • Customer visits when appropriate
  • Recruitment of staff when appropriate
Education, skills and experience:
  • At least 5 years at Service Manager level
  • Strong mechanical engineering knowledge
  • High level of commercial awareness
  • Strong PC skills on common Microsoft Office packages
  • Exposure to ERP/MRP systems
  • Experienced in budget preparation and forecasting
  • Strong organisational skills
