The Senior Manager Regulatory provides management of the Regulatory team and related processes that ensure Zebra products in development comply with global regulatory requirements. They also ensure oversight within the product design process to achieve consistently compliant products within schedule and budget. Additionally, determines and develops solutions that optimize the organization and drive continuous improvements. In this role, you will have responsibility for a global team that is managing regulatory compliance for all Zebra product portfolio including RFID, Printers, Android Devices, Robotics, Machine Vision and more.
Responsibilities:
- Directs and controls the activities of individuals/teams in a functional discipline within a regulatory compliance group, division, sub-region or country.
- Develops regulatory compliance policy and integrated business solutions.
- Manages programs and/or product compliance initiatives.
- Develops and establishes operational policies within area managed, and delegates assignments.
- Accountable for profitability and/or cost containment by indirectly impacting the P&L through functional management of regulatory budgets.
- Develops and implements programs/solutions to improve processes, reduce costs and cycle time, and improve customer service.
- Recognized leader who exercises judgment and advises team members within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for responsible regulatory disciplines.
- Develop and manage relationships with internal and external partners, including, but not limited to development engineering, product management, program management, test labs, certification partners, and regulators.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of global regulatory standards.
- 5+ years' experience managing a team related to regulatory compliance and with global reach.
- Demonstrated success and experience interfacing with (and influencing) regulatory agencies and supporting entities (e.g. test labs and certification agencies).
- Ability to provide strategy when addressing changes in market and changes from regulatory bodies.
- Technical competence with strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Program Management skills including ability to generate and review test plans, schedules and budgets.
- Able to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team environment across many geographical boundaries and time zones.
- Experience interacting with customers, certification bodies and test labs.
- Experience from the telecommunication industry is a plus (experience from smartphone industry, radio frequency expertise).
- Fluent in English - spoken and written, knowledge of another language is a plus.
