The predicted salary is between 30000 - 50000 £ per year.

XCL are seeking a skilled and motivated Test Engineer that will work closely with manufacturing and engineering departments to ensure that all intelligent and non-intelligent switchgears and Motor Control Centres are functionally correct. You will also be testing these to ensure that they are manufactured to the correct standards which will be done through in-house inspections.

Key Accountabilities:

  • The safe and timely execution of testing activities
  • Responsible for the Health and Safety of all individuals within the testing areas
  • Ensure that all documentation is accurately completed on time
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety and Quality policies and procedures are always adhered to
  • Ensure that all products are completed to the highest standard and that any discrepancies are discussed before the products are sent to the customer
  • Be polite, helpful, and professional towards any customers that come to the workshop

Competencies:

  • Ability to effectively communicate effectively written and verbally
  • Good technical knowledge and background of testing, with specific bias towards the testing and inspection of LV and MV switchgear and equipment
  • Ability to be able to meet customer, client, and suppliers’ expectations through a good understanding of their product specifications
  • To be able to meet and adopt clear approaches to planning, organising and prioritising tasks to ensure that deadlines are met
  • To be proactive in approach and have the drive for results

Qualifications & Education:

  • The ideal candidate will possess good experience and knowledge of testing LV & MV switchboards and switchgears
  • Minimum of ONC in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent
  • Previous Experience of testing of electronic protection relays and associated communication systems would be advantageous

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am-4pm
