Here at Nexus Underwriting Ltd we are recruiting for a Talent Development Business Partner. The successful candidate will work with the Director of Group HR, HR department and individual line managers to deliver the talent development and staff retention agenda. The Talent Development BP will ensure a consistent approach within performance management and drive development, talent initiatives and partner with our parent company B&B to implement the overall talent strategy across the wider organisation. Maintaining and enabling our leading-edge practices, programmes and tools to support leaders to have a sustainable talent pipeline to drive future business growth. Managing talent practices e.g. talent assessment, succession planning, performance management and high potential identification and development, that align with the company’s values and drive the desired culture.
Responsibilities:
- Talent and Performance Management: Run the annual performance management process, including training and coaching on the process and the giving and receiving of feedback; Develop a talent management process including the identification of high potentials; Working with our Recruitment Partner to coach our business leaders to use our internal career development framework to support career progression and movement; Discuss career-pathing options with high-potential employees to ensure high staff retention following up action with the Recruitment Partner and Business Partners; Work with appraisers and appraisees within performance management meetings to articulate and record meaningful and measurable objectives; Conduct skills gap analysis to determine individual needs; Provide employee engagement metrics e.g. retention and turnover rates; Utilise the apprentice levy to its full potential;
- Learning & Development: Identify and record training needs; Work with training partners to design and deliver innovative and practical employee training programmes and sessions (individual, team, skill-based and management training); Develop mentoring and coaching sessions; Build/Sustain the learning and development calendar based on the requirements and needs of the business; Ensure follow up and follow through on objectives and training;
- Succession planning: Work with the Recruitment Partner in building succession plans and identifying candidate pipelines; Work with Business Partners in the development of new professionals and managers.
Qualifications:
- Test User Occupational Training Ability (TUA) and Personality (TUP) Level 1 & 2 essential, formerly known as BPS Level A & B Occupational Test Training
- Learning & Development related qualification/training beneficial, but not essential
- Ideally educated to A’Level, or equivalent, with strong GCSEs, or equivalent

- Must be passionate about development
- Multi-channel communicator, developing and maintaining strong working relationships
- Able to influence and challenge at all levels
- Self-drive, able to work on own initiative
- Desire to succeed and support a growing business
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi-task and organise self
- Experience in a similar role
- Experience in the use of psychometric tools as a development tool
- Experience and knowledge of 360 degree feedback
- Hands-on experience implementing learning and development programmes
