A Transport Supervisor / Night Shift Transport Manager who has previous experience supervising commercial delivery drivers is required to join the team and support the Logistics Manager based in Brentwood, Essex.
SALARY: £30,000 per annum + Benefits
LOCATION: Brentwood, Essex – 100% Office Based
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 4on/4off Night Shifts. Working pattern of either 18:00 to 06:00 or 19:00 until 07:00. Shift patterns to be fully discussed at interview.
Please note: Candidates must have a Full Driving License and their own vehicle as the site is inaccessible by public transport.
JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Transport Supervisor / Night Shift Transport Manager who has previous experience supervising commercial delivery drivers. Working as the Transport Supervisor / Night Shift Transport Manager, you will support the Logistic Managers in understanding all tasks to meet both customer and business expectations. As the Transport Supervisor / Night Shift Transport Manager, you will work with the night shift, liaising with drivers to confirm their movements, logging data, liaising with customers, carrying out checks, and managing any general transport duties. Your role will include live problem solving, assisting our drivers and customers to ensure we can provide mobile scanning units ready for the next day’s vital patient scans. As a successful candidate, you’ll need previous logistics experience and have good customer service, organisational, time-management, and administrative skills.
DUTIES
- Contacting drivers at the start of the shift to confirm their movements
- Monitoring driver movements to ensure drivers arrive at their correct destination and that moves are carried out to plan
- Log arrival times on daily move spreadsheet
- Inputting the number of customer moves onto the relevant spreadsheets
- Calculate and log mileage of Quest vehicles
- Log fuel and usage
- Log drivers check sheets and confirm set-ups are correct
- Assisting with the daily vehicle planning in line with customer requirements
- Issuing of site maps to drivers as required
- Raising subcontractor requests for any fleet work undertaken and input these onto the website
- Work with the customer to ensure changes to activities are implemented and agreed upon where required
- Any other general transport office duties
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience working within a transport environment
- Good understanding of driver regulations and compliance regulations would be advantageous
- CPC qualification would be advantageous
- Experience working within a very busy environment and sticking to strict delivery performance criteria set by the customer
- Good planning and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Full Driving License and own vehicle as the site is inaccessible by public transport
