As a part of our two-year Early Careers Programme within the Quilter Investment Division, you will gain valuable experience in a leading asset management firm. Upon successful completion of the programme, you may be offered a position within one of our operational and investment teams. We are a small, dynamic team of around 60 people in the investment division, creating plenty of opportunities for you to make your mark and contribute to our success.
This programme is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the investment landscape while allowing you to develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive and engaging environment. During your programme, you'll have the exciting opportunity to rotate through various core operational and investment teams. This hands-on experience will immerse you in a range of activities, giving you a comprehensive understanding of our function and the complete lifecycle of our products and solutions.
We will adapt the path that you follow to make the most of business opportunities and your own preferences.
- Operations: Engaging in trade processing, valuations, and governance for smooth operations.
- Implementation: Gaining practical experience implementing our solutions and supporting the team during their busiest times.
- Research Hub: Collaborating to help our portfolio managers choose the best fund managers and funds for our customers.
- Investment Risk: Helping ensure our funds meet regulatory and product specific requirements by checking market risk and reporting on associated risks, liquidity, attribution, stress, and holdings.
- Portfolio Management: Supporting our Portfolio Managers with asset allocation, fund selection and portfolio construction.
The role will also work closely alongside our Business Manager to gain exposure to our regulatory and governance reporting processes which are key to our success.
About You
We are looking for individuals who are eager to learn about asset management, regardless of their degree subject, and are open to candidates with or without a degree. All we ask is that you complete any studies before September 2025, when the programme starts. As part of the programme, we will support you in obtaining the CFA Investment Management Certificate (or other appropriate qualification). Should you then be successful in completing the programme and go on to be offered a permanent role, you will be required to study towards the relevant qualifications to be certified in your role.
In addition, we also ask that:
- You have a passion for finance and asset management, with an eagerness to learn about our industry.
- You have excellent analytical skills, a keen attention to detail, and a curious mind.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You are a team player, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different departments.
- You have clear and concise communication skills to liaise effectively with various stakeholders and clients.
- You are proactive, with a can-do attitude and eager to take on new challenges.
- You have a strong work ethic and want to grow your career in asset management.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.) and some experience of coding would be helpful.
