Procurement and Contract Management plays a vital role in ensuring that the Council continues to deliver high quality and value for money front line services to its residents. With continued and increasing austerity, the ability for the Council to secure both value for money and best value through its procurement and commissioning activities has never been more important. The Council buys a wide range of goods, works and services annually and the efficient procurement of these contracts ensures best value is continuously achieved.

The Procurement and Contracts Officer will provide support to the Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer. You will be responsible for the management of some of the elements of the Council’s e-procurement processes and practices; ensure that procurement and contract management documentation is appropriately filed and visible on the Council’s procurement and contract management systems. Also, undertake supplier spend analysis and compile management information reports from different Council systems as required.

You should also have strong time management abilities, capable of prioritising multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The job is primarily based in Laurence House, Catford SE6 4RU, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.
