The following defines responsibilities of the Commissioning Site Manager, WTG/TP for commissioning scope of the Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) and Transition Piece (TP). Role reports functionally to the Project Commissioning Manager.

High Level Project Overview: This position is for a Commissioning Site Manager, WTG/TP - CMG-CSM-WTG for the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project. This scope entails the transportation, pre-assembly and installation of 176 WTGs. The lease area is located 27 miles off the coast of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and the preassembly area is located at Portsmouth Marine Terminal. The candidate will be required to be stationed at the pre-assembly site located at Portsmouth Marine Terminal (PMT) in Virginia starting at the end of Q1-2025 until the closure of the installation campaign projected by Q1 2027.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coordinate CMG scope of WTG/TP with Contractor, Packages, and Project
  • Routinely present at work location to manage, coordinate, report on commissioning activities
  • Ensure coordination and compliance by commissioning working parties to HSE programs, Project requirements, and contract agreements.
  • Lead daily coordination meetings with all stakeholders related to commissioning work
  • Ensure commissioning schedule progress and provide inputs to schedulers
  • Manage process and review of deliverable documentation, e.g. reports, plans, As-Builts, etc.
  • Execute and coordinate Owner LOTO isolations, documentation, and plans
  • Manage, coordinate, and authorize energization activities of high and low voltage equipment
  • Manage, coordinate, and authorize all work activities of an energized WTG
  • Draft, update, review, and authorize plans, procedures, and certificate documentation
  • Owner representation to witness, inspect, audit, walkdown, and accept work

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience directly in a role as a Commissioning Site Manager, specific preference would be to have that experience be directly related to Wind Turbine Generator projects.
  • Must have prior experience on major capital projects (100M+) in the offshore wind industry as a project manager handling/managing WTG project.
  • Experience managing, coordinating WTG commissioning scope, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated expertise as project manager of complex scope with PM tool.
  • Minimum High School Diploma/GED
