The Role:
As a Childrens Contact Supervisor, you will oversee contact sessions between children and their parents or family members in a safe, supervised setting. You will:
- Ensure contact visits are conducted in a safe and structured environment.
- Monitor and assess the quality of interactions, ensuring the childs welfare is always the priority.
- Support children and their families before, during, and after contact sessions.
- Observe and accurately record interactions, providing detailed reports for social workers or courts when required.
- Intervene sensitively if necessary to redirect or manage difficult situations.
- Promote positive and healthy communication between children and their families.
Must be willing to drive the young person to and from contact sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising and facilitating contact sessions to promote positive family relationships.
- Ensuring that the needs and welfare of the child remain the focus at all times.
- Writing clear, accurate, and objective reports following each contact session.
- Working closely with social workers, families, and legal professionals as needed.
- Adhering to safeguarding policies and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children and families.
- Must have a minimum of 1 years UK experience working with children and families.
- Must be able to provide 3 years professional references.
- Must have an enhanced Adult and Child DBS registered on the update service or willing to process a new one with Prospero.
- A caring, professional, and impartial approach with strong observational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to produce detailed, objective reports.
- Patience, resilience, and the ability to manage potentially challenging situations.
- Understanding of safeguarding practices and child protection.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
