With a new ‘challenger’ brand strategy in the works and an ambitious growth plan, we’re on the hunt for a middleweight Video Editor to join our Creative Services team for a 6 month FTC to be a key player in driving how UW shows up visually through film, motion and sound design.
Here are the key experience, skills and competencies we’re looking for you to bring:
- 3+ years of experience as a video editor, with a strong portfolio or showreel showcasing creative projects.
- Experience in Adobe (emphasis on After Effects and Premiere), Figma, Google suite, Asana & Slack.
- Solid understanding of animation and motion design principles and editing techniques.
- Proficiency in video and motion graphics software like Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro.
- Strong experience in motion graphics and animation.
- Attention to detail and a passion for storytelling through visual mediums.
- Good understanding of visual effects and sound design.
- Strong understanding of video formats, codecs, and delivery specifications for various platforms.
- Familiarity with wider Adobe Creative Cloud programmes and Figma.
- Awareness of and interest in the latest trends in motion, sound and visual effects.
- Self-motivated and a creative thinker with excellent collaboration skills.
- Great commercial and business awareness.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
This will be a hybrid role with 2 days per week in one of our London Hubs (Farringdon or Colindale).
This role will report to the Film Lead and work within our inhouse Creative Services team who produce a wide range of creative content for the Utility Warehouse team. You’ll work closely with people across the business to ensure video and social content meets the brief and delivers the impact we’re looking for.
As the Video & Social Content Editor at UW you will be responsible for:
- Reviewing raw footage and developing engaging storyboards and timelines.
- Editing video content for various platforms, ensuring brand consistency and audience engagement.
- Creating and integrating motion graphics, animations, and visual effects to enhance storytelling.
- Providing creative input and suggestions for video concepts, formats, and editing techniques to effectively convey messages and achieve desired outcomes.
- Optimising video content for social media platforms, adhering to best practices and trends.
