The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. We are seeking to appoint an experienced Estates Assistant Project Manager to join the Project Management Office (PMO). PMO is responsible for delivering all of the organisation's strategic projects across a wide portfolio, and the successful candidate will be joining a close-knit team with diverse skill sets.

You will be working alongside Business Analysts, Business Relationship Managers, IT PMs, Capital & Estates staff, and Process & Project Governance professionals. The primary focus of the role will be on delivering key strategic Capital refurbishment Projects up to £10M in value, within operational and listed buildings.

You will hold an undergraduate degree or have demonstrable and appropriate practical experience in an estates delivery capacity, be knowledgeable in construction management, and have had responsibility for the development and delivery of projects from conception to completion. Working knowledge of construction legal matters and contracts, H&S, and management of construction projects in operational buildings is essential.

You will also have experience in working in a Prince2-based project environment, and experience within Higher Education will be viewed favourably, although it is not essential. Further particulars are included in the job description. All PMO staff may become involved with other strategic projects, which offer opportunities to develop diverse skills and knowledge.

The applicant should have proven project delivery experience and an appreciation of the Higher Education landscape and its pressures. The post is full-time, 35 hours per week, 1 FTE, and permanent. The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £44,847 - £50,808 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part-time staff. In addition, there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days.” Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London.
