Reporting to the Regional Manager, you’ll be responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and compliance of a fleet of welding equipment, working on-site at our customers' premises. The ideal candidate will hold a recognised academic qualification in an electrical engineering discipline which should be at least HNC, HND, NVQ 4 or equivalent level.
Responsibilities:- You will be responsible for the upkeep of current assets on site, delivering the agreed service levels, and building key relationships on site by delivering a first-class service to our customers.
- Undertaking maintenance, calibration and routine servicing of welding equipment.
- Troubleshooting known and unknown issues related to breakdowns.
- Building and maintaining a strong relationship with clients.
- Maintaining a high level of health and safety at all times.
- Being up to date on knowledge and understanding of all relevant compliance and regulatory rules and procedures that relate to welding & engineering equipment.
- Staying fully conversant with the latest welding technology, in particular our partner brands like Kemppi, Lincoln, Binzel, ESAB etc.
- Managing the workflow of the client to meet current demand and future pipeline.
- Making well informed decisions on the repair and maintenance of the welding & engineering fleet for the project.
- Arranging routine services directly with clients and their staff.
- Produce electronic examination reports in a professional manner with high quality standards.
- Passing on expertise, knowledge, and good working practices to other personnel in the business to support the growth of the project.
- Demonstrating the right behaviours and ability to adapt and encourage others to face new challenges and embrace the changes required to meet the strategic objectives of Speedy.
- The ideal candidate will hold a recognised academic qualification in an electrical engineering discipline which should be at least HNC, HND, NVQ 4 or equivalent level.
- You will also have gained a relevant level of practical experience in the repair and maintenance of welding and engineering equipment, which should ideally be a recognised apprenticeship alongside direct relevant engineering & welding equipment hire experience.
- Can demonstrate experience and skill in building and maintaining relationships with customers and colleagues at multiple levels within an organisation to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Competent in repairing and servicing welding equipment.
- Self-motivated, demonstrates good organisational skills and a willingness to support and help resolve situations in a positive and professional manner.
