Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About the Role: Mainstay Recruitment Solutions are seeking an experienced and qualified Mechanical Engineer/ Plumber to join our clients Estates Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of a variety of buildings. The ideal candidate will be skilled in mechanical and plumbing maintenance, with a strong focus on high-quality workmanship and compliance with health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out reactive and planned maintenance across a large site but with occasional cover needed at others.
  • Perform some installation work and general maintenance tasks to high technical standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and regulations, offering advice as needed.
  • Work across multiple sites as required, with a company van provided for travel to Trust locations.
  • Participate in an on-call rota after a period of induction, with additional payments for out-of-hours duties.

About You: To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • A minimum of City & Guilds Level 2 (or equivalent) in Mechanical / Plumbing / Building Maintenance.
  • Full, current driving licence.
  • Experience in all aspects of building maintenance, ideally within a healthcare background.
  • Proven knowledge of health and safety regulations and good communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • CSCS card (preferred but not essential).

Additional Information: This position will require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
