Location: Wigston, Leicester

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Purchasing Manager and Production Planner to join their family run manufacturing facility based in Leicester.

Role:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer requirements and optimise resources
  • Monitor production workflows, identifying and addressing potential delays
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure adherence to quality standards and timely delivery
  • Monitor and log production timings, analysing data and working with operations manager to drive efficiency
  • Oversee the procurement of raw materials, components, and equipment necessary for production
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers to secure favourable terms and ensure supply chain reliability
  • Monitor inventory levels, implementing strategies to minimise costs while preventing shortages
  • Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to forecast demand and adjust production plans accordingly
  • Coordinate with the accounts department and managing director to manage budgets and control expenditures related to production and procurement
  • Analyse production and procurement processes, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs

Candidate:

  • Experience of using ERP systems
  • Qualifications within Supply Chain Management
  • Experience within production planning and purchasing management
  • Computer literate (Office 365, Excel / Word / MS Office)
  • Construction materials / construction industry experience advantageous
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise according to business needs
