We are seeking a Deputy Head of Estates to join a leading NHS facilities team. This role is ideal for a highly experienced and motivated individual, technically qualified in Building Services Engineering, with a proven track record of working with engineering trades staff and contractors at all levels. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal, management, and team-working skills.
Role: Deputy Head of Estates
Location: NHS Trust
Working Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Contract Type: Permanent, Site-Based
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage building services-related engineering operations, with a focus on mechanical, electrical, and other specialist building systems.
- Act as a Responsible or Authorised Person in accordance with HTM guidelines.
- Provide technical support and guidance to engineering staff and contractors at various levels.
- Oversee day-to-day operational estate management, ensuring all systems are safe, compliant, and running efficiently.
- Demonstrate leadership and management skills, maintaining a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Key Requirements:
- Technical Qualifications: Must be technically qualified in Building Services Engineering or related fields.
- Experience: Proven experience in a senior estates maintenance operational role, ideally within NHS hard FM engineering services.
- Qualifications: Higher-level operational estate knowledge and professional qualifications in building services engineering (refer to Job Description for full details).
- Interpersonal and Management Skills: Strong leadership, team-working, and contractor management skills.
- Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is required.
