The Job

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Learning Mentor to join us and work in various schools across London. In this role, you will:

  • Provide one-on-one and group mentoring support to students, helping them to overcome personal, social, and academic challenges.
  • Support students in developing key life skills, such as self-confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being.
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff members to identify students who need additional support and create tailored mentoring plans.
  • Help students develop strategies for managing stress, building motivation, and improving their focus in the classroom.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and assist in the development of social skills and peer relationships.
  • Act as a role model, providing guidance and encouragement to help students succeed both inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Support with small group interventions and deliver workshops on key themes like study skills, emotional regulation, and goal setting.

Could This Be Right For You? Are You…..

  • Qualified (desired): Hold a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent).
  • Experienced: Have experience working with children in a classroom or support setting, or a passion for supporting students with additional learning needs.
  • Skilled: Demonstrate excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and support students of all abilities.
  • Personable: Patient, adaptable, and empathetic, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience supporting students with SEN or additional learning needs.
  • A good understanding of child development and effective learning strategies.
  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to supporting students.
