Student Support Mentor 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year Fixed term contract to 31st October 2025 Salary £26,118.23 pro rata – £20,061.12 actual p.a. Who are Preston Vocational Centre (PVC)? PVC was established in 2009, becoming part of the Community Gateway Association (CGA) Group as its charitable subsidiary in 2013. Since 2009, we’ve welcomed over 7000 learners through our doors, helping them re-engage with education and reach their potential. What would I be doing in this role? The Student Support Mentor provides intensive small group or 1:1 pastoral support that is tailored to learners’ needs, to engage young people from a diverse range of backgrounds. The role works collaboratively with the wider Centre team to meet the personal, social and curriculum-related needs of learners, including those with additional needs and learners for whom English is not their first language. What we are looking for: You’ll have experience of working in a similar role and of working with young people You’ll have the ability to inspire learners and encourage hem to reach their potential. We recognise the importance of creating a safe environment for all children and young people we work with.
