Basic Salary circa £45-60,000 per annum very dependant on experience + Bonus + Car allowance + excellent benefits. Monday-Thursday 36 hour week. Division of a Global Manufacturer in South Wales.
The role requires a background in Engineering and/or selling into the Manufacturing industry. Automotive or related industry experience would be ideal. You will be an experienced Commercial Business Development Manager with considerable Senior Account Management skills gained in the Manufacturing or Engineering industry, ideally working for an Automotive component manufacturer. Experience of selling manufactured products is essential.
General Purpose of Role:
- Managing Allocated Customer Accounts - customer satisfaction and P&L responsibility.
- Identify and develop business opportunities in line with a clear commitment to meeting the current customer’s requirements and delivering a high-quality service.
- Prospect for new customers that fit with Company commercial and sales strategy and effectively manage them into the business.
- Oversee and Manage Account Managers performance. Set Targets and monitor.
Main Responsibilities:
- Account Management - Be the first point of contact for allocated customers - maintain and develop relationships with all relevant contacts within the customers – regularly visit allocated customers.
- Prospect for additional business within allocated customers.
- Responsible for P&L and margin maintenance / development.
- Obtain future significant changes in demand and forecast build information.
- Be the voice of the customer within the Company.
Sales Management and Business Development:
- With the Sales Director, develop and implement a sales strategy that aligns with the company’s goals for growth and profitability.
- Focus on complementing current customer portfolio.
- Develop new market opportunities – Liaise with other company divisions to ensure markets and potential customers are contacted, and aligned.
- Attend industry events and conferences to identify new business opportunities.
- Manage the response to RFQs.
- Review documentation received including contract review and present requirements internally.
- Ensure smooth handover of new customers to Account Managers / Business Development Managers.
People Management:
- Working on account management plans with the account managers.
- Monitoring account managers in line with KPI’s set by the Sales Director.
Person Specification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, or Engineering discipline and/or a similar related discipline with technical knowledge and/or any equivalent combination of training and Automotive experience is desirable.
- Experience in sales of technical or industrial products in Sales Management is essential.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good leadership qualities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of the importance of customer service.
- Ability to carry out personnel evaluations, set performance targets, engage new employees, identify and possibly deliver training.
- Must be self-motivated – the candidate will need to set themselves challenging targets and be responsible for delivering on given commitments.
