We are seeking an experienced Electrician/Wireman/Fitter to join our team. As an Electrician/Wireman/Fitter, you will be responsible for installing and connecting various cables, accessories, and substation switchgear/plant associated with the distribution network. Your role will also involve the installation and termination of multicore cables, protection panels, wall boxes, busbars, structures, and plant as well as small power and lighting.
What you will be doing:
- Follow established work safety practices and comply with legislative responsibilities.
- Identify and eliminate hazards and dangerous situations.
- Install and maintain cables, cable accessories, and auxiliary equipment according to quality assurance, engineering design, time constraints, statutory requirements, and relevant standards.
- Maintain standard tools and equipment and ensure their safety and reliability.
- Provide direction to the work team and mentor less experienced colleagues.
- Successfully pass audits on works undertaken.
- Install package substations/switchgear and GRP Housings.
What you will need to be successful:
- City and Guilds electrical installation Level 2/3 and formal trade qualifications (apprentice served) are a distinct advantage.
- CSCS Qualification and Driver's Licence are essential.
- Certificate of Competency/Qualification for DNO's, Electrician or Electrical Fitter.
- MEWP/PASMA Certificate, Confined space training, Emergency first aid at work, Manual handling, and Asbestos Awareness are desirable.
- Focused and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to interpret complex requirements, identify risks, and communicate effectively.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong ability to forward plan.
