Business Development Manager – REMOTE – Flexible Salary with Uncapped Commission – Renewables and Sustainability The Green Recruitment Company are working with an energy and environmental consultancy. They are committed to transforming the energy landscape by delivering straightforward, sustainable, and actionable solutions that create lasting environmental and societal benefits. Our goal is to help businesses and communities reduce their energy consumption , adopt clean technologies , and contribute to a sustainable future . They are looking for a Business Development Manager to join them on a permanent basis. This role is mostly remote, with the exception of being in the office around 1 day per month in Southampton . They are looking for someone with experience in sales with relevant sector experience – Wind, Solar, Gas, Oil, Heat, Power, Education, (Renewables and sustainability). They are expanding their team and are looking to hire enthusiastic Business Development Managers (BDMs) to join our growing sales team. As a BDM, you will work closely with the sales team and the Marketing Director to plan and execute lead generation strategy and driving commercial growth across the UK. The role will focus on developing and executing a range of demand generation activities—such as cold calling and email campaigns—to help us achieve our growth targets. This is only part of the position as the bulk of this role will be following up on warm leads and turning them into success stories. Some of the key Responsibilities: Lead Generation : Identify and develop new business opportunities by prospecting and reaching out to potential customers through cold calling and canvassing. Sales Support : Collaborate with the sales team to create outreach plans that engage new prospects and start meaningful conversations. Target Achievement : Consistently meet quarterly sales and activity targets. CRM Management : Maintain accurate and detailed records of customer interactions, including tracking progress and outcomes in the sales CRM. Data Enhancement : Update and improve customer data to ensure better quality, more informed outreach. Personal and Financial Goals : Meet both individual performance targets and financial objectives. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work closely with other departments to support business development and organizational growth. Continuous Learning : Participate in ongoing training to develop your skills and stay informed about industry trends. Strategic Campaigns : Partner with Sales and Marketing to design and implement effective sales campaigns. Customer-Centric Focus : Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure that all initiatives align with and enhance the overall customer experience. Experience needed for this position: Proven Experience : Solid background in leading and executing demand/lead generation campaigns for B2B solutions. This will need to be in the renewables space, heat, power, manufacturing or education. Track Record of Success : Demonstrable success in consistently meeting or exceeding sales and activity targets. Customer-Centric Focus : Passionate about delivering value to customers, with a history of developing campaigns that significantly impact Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) and drive sales pipeline growth. Stakeholder Management : Skilled in managing multiple stakeholders and prioritizing tasks across a broad scope to ensure alignment with both short-term and long-term business objectives. Analytical and Strategic Mindset : Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and analytical skills, with experience in tracking metrics, conducting performance analysis, and optimizing campaign outcomes. Tech-Savvy : Familiar with CRM, LinkedIn, digital marketing tools, marketing automation platforms, and tracking systems. This is a very exciting role and they are very flexible on the base salary dependent on sales experience and sector experience.
