We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our head office in Cowick.
Reporting to the Compensation and Benefits Manager, you will be responsible for leading a small team to manage the end-to-end UK payroll operation for approx. 1000 employees.
Who We're Looking For:
- Relevant Payroll qualification such as CIPP
- Experience in a Payroll Manager role or similar Payroll Leadership role
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws and compliance requirements
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
- A deep understanding of payroll systems and best practices
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge and proven experience of international payrolls includes shadowing overseas payrolls
- Experience of annual reporting requirements such as Gender Pay Gap and Directors Reporting Requirements (DRR)
What You'll Be Doing:

- Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing for approx. 1000 employees including benefits administration/payrolling benefits, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Lead, develop and motivate a small team, providing support and training as required
- Work closely with finance, employment tax and the wider HR team to ensure collaboration and cross functional working for a seamless payroll operation
- Lead and manage ongoing/new payroll projects
- Handle payroll queries, from basic to complex, providing clear and professional responses to all levels of employees including queries from overseas assignments.
- Manage third party relationships with payroll vendors and service providers
- Responsible for the processing of annual cycles such as pay review, bonus, P11D and PSA
